Zippy, our beloved honeybee mascot, has been a busy bee this winter! Hibernation is not an option when there’s so much work to do! Franklin Pest Solutions is a local family business. We are essential workers and protectors of public health in our communities. One of our ongoing goals as a company is to do good for the communities we serve. This winter, Zippy has participated in various community and charitable endeavors raising awareness, promoting women’s heart health, lung health, and he even participated in WDRB’s morning news annual Mascot Bowl! It has been a blast supporting everyone and hanging out with all of our other mascot friends in the area.
AHA’s Calling a Code Red
The American Heart Association called a “Code Red” to raise awareness for women’s heart health in the month of February. National Wear Red Day took place on February 5th and the mascots showed out wearing all their red. From scarves to hats, to socks, we were showing the love. We shared pictures on social media of the Franklin team rocking red the whole week leading up to the 5th. We used #GoRedKY and #WearRedDay to promote this amazing cause! ❤️🚨
ALA’s Fight For Air Climb
The Fight For Air Climb, an initiative started by the American Lung Association, was created to raise awareness for people who are truly fighting for every breath. Every February 6th, the climb takes place. A Climb-Your-Way personal challenge can be a stair-climb in your house or outside in a nearby park. It’s a run up a hill or a jog down a trail. It’s jumping rope or jumping jacks. It’s your challenge, your way. No matter where you are, we are all working together to support people who are fighting for every breath. Join the Fight For Air Climb for the challenge and for a world free of COVID-19 and lung disease. All of the mascots in the league virtually participated this year and used the #mylungsmyclimb hashtag to show our support.
WDRB’s Mascot Bowl
Zippy had the best time playing and participating in the annual Mascot Bowl hosted by WDRB’s morning news! This live event was just what we needed to get in the spirit for the upcoming big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers! Zippy did so well, in fact, he not only scored the first touch down of the game, but he even received the title of MV-BEE!!! Go, Zippy Go! 🐝🏅🏆🏈 Big shout out to WDRB and The League of Mascots allowing us to get involved and continue raising awareness!
